Car theft on the increase:
The public are being urged to ensure all automobiles are locked and valuables removed as a wave of grand theft auto continues to sweep the city.
“We urge all citizens to be vigilant as Canberra’s finest law enforcement officers work to hunt down these culprits and bring them to justice” said State and Federal police boss June Cash.
“The people and cars of Canberra will not be held hostage by criminal elements who insist on defying our longstanding relationship with members of the mafia..I mean, community.”
8 cars have been broken into over the past two weeks, many which were later found abandoned or burnt out near parliament house.
Police have launched an investigation into the incidents, and have released images of a man they believe can help them with their enquiries. Members of the public with any information are urged to contact law enforcement at email@example.com or on 666 666 666.
